Snow

Here we have Elijah going out last night and the kids outside today. Its COLD! We do not hve the right gear for cold snow like this. Here's a breakdown of what everyone was wearing.
Emily: tights, jeans, turtleneck, blanket sleeper, mittens, daddy socks on hands, jacket, hat, hi kitty boots
Elijah: jeans, ls shirt, sweat shirt, fleece pants, regular socks, fleece socks, boots, my hat, gloves somehow he got out with no coat the first time but after that he also had a big winter jacket on
Stephanie tights, socks, tank top, ls shirt, cords, fleece jacket, winterish but not that warm jacket, fleece socks, uggs, scarf, red hat cap
Neil not nearly enough bc he needed to be tougher then the rest of us.

last few days...

...but not today yet. Waiting to get pictures of the start of the snow if it comes before bedtime or maybe my kids playing with Beca.

For now we have Elijah with his dino form Science Safari and his brick from school as well as Emily helping Daddy work.

Some Sewing

Yesterday I didn't take any pictures until after the kids were in bed so I snapped one of Emily's tutu and shoes for dance. Hopefully one of these days I get some cute one of her in them

Today she is wearing a new spring dress I made her from fabric that a friend gave me. She really likes it and I love the fabric. The pattern itself was a big pita but I will still make it again bc its so darn cute. She has her eyes open in this one but that is getting to be a challenge bc if I say "Emily can I take your picture?" she replies "OK I close my eyes." The little bugger fart.

Elijah is well too. Its a work day today so he is playing mario cart.

Two pictures for you today. The top one is the official one. It is of Emily sitting on the couch looking at one of the sewing books I checked out from the library. Bottom is of Elijah in a shirt I made him. He likes that the sleeves have frogs on them.

Terrific Kid

Yesterday's picture is of Emily trying on my rings. She has apparently been paying attention to Pat the Bunny. She also keeps say "my own ring when older?" We told her she could have her own ring when she was older but she seems to be taking it as a minute by minute thing.

Today Elijah was a Terrific Kid for handwriting practice. He is very pleased. So am I but I'm bummed that you don't get a bumper sticker anymore.

Haven't Forgotten Yet

In no particular order we have the photo of the day for the past 4 days.

Thursday: I had to get new headphones bc mine stopped working. I got cool pink ones called marshmallows.
Friday: Emily letting my friend Erin french braid her hair. No she still won't even let me brush it.
Saturday: Emily and Elijah at Emily's first movie. We went to Frog Prince. She was pretty good but it will likely be a while before her second movie.
Sunday: Both kids laying on their body pillows watching the food network.

Frosty the Snowman

Emily loves art. I mean she really loves it. We always have markers, crayons, and dotters available for use. She paints at least once a week. Her absolute favorite though is when we get to the Bumblebee room and she discovers that they are bringing the little bumbles out one at a time to do an art project. Today was one of those days. She would not even go in the room bc she was so excited so the teacher let her sit at the little pic nick table in the hall till it could be her turn as long as she kept her hands to her self. The above is a picture of the snowman she made. This was even better bc Frosty the Snowman is her favorite book/song.

Some Sewing

Yesterday's picture is of a dress I was cutting out for Emily weighted down with a bunch of little board books. I really need to make myself some real pattern weights one of these days. I have pins but they stay upstairs and I cut downstairs.

Today's picture is of Emily modeling her pretty little punk Valentines day dress.

Pants for Elijah

Elijah has been getting taller so I decided to try my hand at another pair of pants. I cheated and did a fake fly on these bc they have elastic in the back. I plan to use the same pattern for Easter so I'm glad it worked well. You can also see on of his pairs of fleece socks. I got a pattern for those and he has become addicted. He will even go to joanns with me if it means picking out fleece for socks.

Yesterday and Today

Neil watched a Good Eats where Alton Brown cleaned a whole beef tenderloin and made it into steaks and roasts. Yesterday he found the online directions and tried it himself. We were supposed to have friends over to grill tonight (yes I know its freezing) but Elijah has a stomach bug so all plans are on hold. I am hoping that it is the one Emily had earlier this week and she doesn't get sick again. Also really hoping that Neil and I are spared this one so here's to hoping.

Today's picture is of Emily having Daddy fly her around the house with her new fairy wings that she picked out for herself at Old Navy. She had to have them and while there are online tutorials to make your own these were $9.50 and I really couldn't make them for that.

Joe's Jeans

Alright I really don't like pictures of myself, I'd had these on all day when Neil took the picture, and I didn't realize how too big the shirt was getting but these are my very first designer jeans and my absolute favorite. They are a bit long and would look better with heals but since I dry everything in a few washings they will not be too long. They feel great and stay up which I love plus when I started loosing weight I wanted to loose enough to fit in the largest size these came in. That didn't quite happen bc when I went to try them on I actually wore a size smaller. I hope they still fit in a few weeks but I'm almost at my goal so they should. Trust me I look better in this outfit in person.

Reading Stories

One of Emily's favorite things to do.

I a big girl.

Emily has become very insistent regarding her status as a big girl lately. Just before the top picture she told me, "I not baby, I big girl, balrina." During the bottom picture she was tracing letters on Elijah's letter poster saying "I write your name". Truthfully she is becoming more little girl and less baby every day but I love that she can sometimes tell us what is going on in her head.

Day 1 Airplanie

I have many goals for 2010 most of which I have no real desire to list out at the moment. However, the one that effects this blog the most is my goal to take at least one picture every day for the year. I'd like to declare one photo the photo of the day each day. I will try to post daily but I am not promising that I will only that I will do my best to take them and get them up. I came up with this idea bc I've found that I don't take many pictures of our day to day goings on and bc I remembered a news story from before Elijah was born about a man who had taken a film picture of his child every day of her life. I thought it was a neat idea but didn't do it with either of my kids. I figure this way they can be pictures of whatever but it should motivate me to take more with my pretty new camera. Thanks dear.

Now about the picture. My Aunt Janet and Uncle David got Elijah a huge totally awesome lego airplane kids for Christmas. I was dreading putting it together but Neil and Elijah worked on it nap time for the past two days and here it is. As you can see the big boy is quite proud of himself. Thankfully daddy has much more patience with these things then I do. You picked a winner though Janet he is thrilled with it and has it on display on a very high shelf in the play room.
