Pictures as Promised

So Here is Elijah in his new glasses. He put them on and said "Wow I have a lot of freckles". He is getting used to them but seems to be happy. We even went to Sears for prof ish photos. This is not one of them though.
Yes Emily is climbing. She's 10 months and climbing. She even stands in her little chair to get at things she's not supposed to have.
Off to Kindergarden or atleast the stagger start day. He had a great time. No I did not cry or want to. I love him more then life but we are both ready for him to be out of the house a bit more.
I just get a kick out of her in her tutu.
Oh and these are the shoes she picked out for her self at Gymboree. I picked them up she squeeled and grabbed them. Oh well they were cheap and she will keep them on her feet.

My poor babies.

While lots of good stuff has also happened since last time both of my babies have also had a bit of a difficult time over the past few days.

Poor little Emily woke of Saturday morning with puke in her hair. Apparently she had puked at some point the night before and not cried about it bc we did hear from her till 7 am. She then proceeded to throw up 3 more times before the Dr decided we should put her on ped lite for the rest of the day. She could only keep ped down again the next day but started getting so mad about it we had to give her the flavored kind. She started nursing again on Monday, had a bit of actual food yesterday, and today is eating again mostly bc she is miserably hungry. She's also being super clingy again.

Poor little Elijah had to go to his first eye apointment yesterday and while the dr was used to working with kids the nurse was not. She took forever giving him his vision screening including about 10 minutes of which looks better one or two. OK I suck at which looks better and I'm an adult he's 5 lady. Then they dilated his pupils and he got to spend another 20 min with the Dr bc he needed for Elijah to hold his head perfectly still. Again he's 5. At the end of it all the Dr decided that he needs glasses to correct his stigmatism especially bc one eye is much worse then the other. Can't remember which one after all that. Elijah got to choose between the 3 pairs of boy glasses they had in his side. Totally unfair can you imagine the fit I'd pitch if I could only choose between 3 pairs. He picked a blue pair bc he said he could see the best through them. I tried to explain that it didn't matter bc they would put his lenses in them to no avail and figured he looked cute, it wasn't worth the fuss, and I wanted to go home. He's excited about getting them. I'm less then thrilled that he will be getting them during the 1st week of kindergarten bc this was the soonest appointment we could get with people who weren't even that good with children but oh well. I'll post pics when he gets them.

Ok Seriously

Here's a picture of Elijah working on his laptop. Well technically I think its one of Neils laptops but Elijah logs him out and then himself in so that he can use it and it lives in the baby free zone in our living room. The baby free zone is the area behind our couch that is blocked off by a baby gate. Poor little Emily was standing on the otherside chewing on it today. Its really funny. My child who won't color, I don't mean doesn't like to I mean won't color, loves to use tux paint on the computer, makes elaborate pictures, and prints them out himself. Oh and then earlier today he somehow learned to surf the internet. He was super pleased with himself for finding an olympic web site, a country music site, and a video game site. Neil is installing some childproofing softwhere as I type so I'll let you know how long it takes for him to figure that out.

Funny realization today. I was talking on the phone and told Angela I feel like I've been busy but don't seem to be getting anything done. Well during our phone conversation all of the following happened.
  • Emily woke up from her nap and Neil brought her down
  • Elijah layed down putting all his body weight on her causing her to scream
  • Elijah got mad at me for yelling at him to get off his sister and went somewhere
  • Emily decided she was hungery and wanted to nurse
  • Emily crawled into the kitchen and tried to eat the plastic straw wrapper that Elijah had dropped on the floor.
  • Elijah insisted that there was nothing in her mouth till I fished it out
  • Elijah then got mad and went outside in the rain
  • Emily and I went on the porch to check on Elijah only to discover that he had his marble trackout um great brittle plastic and marbles
  • Emily found Elijah's marbles which he "hide" under one of her favorite toys
Angela decided I had my hands full and that she needed to get back to what she was doing anyways.

Oh and possibly least I figured out why people sew their children jamies. I love trying to make things for the kids but when I started going to sewingmamas I didn't understand why you would bother to make jamies. Fastforward to me buying too much knit fabric and wanting to play around with a few patterns and Emily suddenly deciding she didn't like her sleep sacks and this is what you get. Ok the picture at the top is what you get bc blogger won't let me move it. They were fun though and I enjoyed the who cares if they aren't perfect they're just jamies aspect.

Alone time and talking.

So this past Friday I did something so glutenous it could almost be considered dirty. Well maybe not to all but as a mama of now two small children and wife to a husband I love I spend very very little time alone. This can be especially challenging since the only part of my personality that is strongly expressed in Myers brigs is the I. This is something that I probably hadn't done int more then 2 actually almost 3 years. I went to Barnes and Noble alone and stayed for a while. That's right I sent my long suffering husband to the pool on a Friday with a 5 yo and a 9mo and went to Barnes and Noble. First I picked up a few magazines then it was back to Starbucks for a red velvet cupcake and a cappuccino (More milk of foam? Dude I have no idea usually I have to get something with whip cream so I can share.). Finished that and it was off to look at books and find I big comfy chair. I had totally forgotten that there were big chairs since I'm usually on the little wooden benches back in the kids area ready a Scooby Doo and hoping that Emily doesn't take a header off the stage while I'm attending to Elijah. I looked at cookbooks and craft books as I've been reading the same novel since before Emily was born. I'm halfway there now so maybe before she's 2 I'll finish. Then I wasn't ready to go home so I picked up a pile of trashy tabloids not people the really trashy ones and curled up in another big chair. It was great. I nearly feel asleep which I'm guessing would have been inappropriate and then it was time to go home. I did remember to get the book I was there for and Neil made it home with both of our children in the same general condition they were in when he left.

Now about the kids. Emily is talking. Not a lot but she definitely has several words. She points her little finger and says "that" at anything she wants. She says "pitty" (pretty) for pretty fabric (that's mamas girl) and clothes. She also says mama, daddy, and num num. In addition to this she loves her brother to death. If he goes in his room and closes the door she sits outside of it in the hallway and peaks under till he lets her in. Don't worry though he loves her too. He has even figured out how to pick her up under the arms/around the chest and move her about. She really likes this too and I figure she's not all that far off the ground.
