life happens

So it seems like I have 1 extra image but I can't figure out what day the extra is so we will be keeping it. Life here has been exciting. Emily is potty trained which is the big news of this week espically since it only took about 1.5 days. I didn't take a picture of her poop though so be greatful for that bc pooping on the potty was quite exciting around here. Other highlights were swim team dry land practice, lots of rain, sushi for grown ups night, and leek soup night. Leek soup looks like snot but elijah who won't eat any other veggies loves it. On a down note Emily has a yucky fever sour throat virus so nothing exciting for memorial day weekend.

Prince Elijah

Yesterday was Elijah's first dance recital. He did very well. Being the only boy he had a solo in the ballet that was mostly about all the little girls preforming for him so that he could pick his princess. I have some pictures of that but I'm not posting them since they have other peoples children in them. It was great though and Neil and I are very proud.

less then great pictures

I think some little fingers have changed something on my camera but I don't know what yet.

Today we got the kids bopper balloons. Remember those things? Turns out they're still fun.

Emily is modeling the under dress for a dress I just finished in yesterday's picture.

just a few more

The kids "fishing". You can also see Emily's new sparkly shoes in this one. Man is it hart to find narrow toddler shoes.

The kids also stopped fighting yesterday long enough to build a tower together.

Neil's grill.

Emily pretending to be a fish while doing the animal dance.

Calming down

Elijah working on his Study Island program for school. He was pretty tired today after the weekend and being up late last night.

Last night Elijah and I went to River Dance it was really cool and he had a wounderful time. We may be looking into Irish Dance soon. Oh and just for you if your reading Erin afterwords he was tired it was 10 when he got to bed and this is what he said to me. "Mommy now I know how you and Daddy feel when you have to stay up late I never want to do this again," He was a cranky pita on Monday morning though.

Saturday we went to a birthday party for Elijah's friend Ian. This is a picture of Emily walking with Elijah's friend William. I thought she would be a bit older before she got crushes on her brother's friends but they were cute hanging out together.

Bed Swap

The great bed swap is officially done. Elijah is now happily sleeping on a new bed with a huge matteress that he picked out himself. Emily is on his old bed bc it is the perfect height for a toddler with purple butterfly sheets that after much deliberation she picked out herself. We had to go back to the sheet section at Walmart 3 times bc she just couldn't decide. Last night went well and this morning they came down to watch cartoons together without us.

busy week

Busy pretty much describes the past few days. Here we have Emily trying to wash her own hear, fly guy the butterfly who has decided that he'd prefer to stay on the back porch despite having been released, and the kids play in the water bc its already 90.

Way too many pictures.

Like I said way too many but there were too many good ones to only do one per day.

Spell check would not work today so read on at your own risk.

Sunday we were resting mostly but we got meat to grill at the Meat House and they had some local strawberries that smelled so good we just had to buy them. They tasted even better.

Saturday we did a day trip to the beach. Next time we will do a weekend but we didn't have time and this was so much fun. The kids had a great time. Emily wanted to be buried in the sand and draw in the sand. They both spent a lot of time in the water despite the fact that it was cold. Then we drove to the river in Wilimington for lunch/dinner combo meal. Elijah had nachos with just cheese and told our waitress that it was the best meal he had ever eaten. Thanks kid. Oh well this discovery opens up mexican resteraunts to us.

Friday we had the dress rehersall for the recitale. The kids ended up eating Chic Filet in the back of my car for dinner. I'm not ready for this level of running around on a regular basis and am glad it is still rare in our schedule.

Thursday we picked up Emily's balance bike from Science Safari. She had been campaigning for a little bike but can't peddle so this is perfect and will be for a while. If you need one call the guys and the store and have them order you one. They're great it so is the little bike. In all these pictures she is screaming "Look at Emily."
