Kidding and not.

After making Emily's Easter dress I threatened to make Neil and Elijah matching ties. Turns out they both thought it was a great idea. I think they are pretty neat too now that I see them done. They think I need to get more bunny fabric to make myself a skirt. I'm not so sure about that.

I'm working on some nighties for Beca and a dress for Emily from this TNT pattern. Thought you might like to see what its looking like these days.

I do some sewing.

Yesterday I left the door to my sewing room a little a jar and walked in just in time to see Emily climb into my chair and say "I do some sewing."

The jumper is inspired by some Heather Ross fabric that I really like. We called Emily princess pea before she was born bc she would kick at anything including the bed that invaded her space.

toes

Turns out Emily is fine with getting her toe nails cut as long as I promise to paint them pink.

new things

Wed. we got a call from Elijah's teacher part way through the day bc his glasses had completely fallen apart. He Emily and I went to the mall after school to get them replaced. Hopefully these will be sturdier. As an added bonus I got to hit some end of season sales while we waited for them to be ready.

Emily likes to use the telescope as a microphone to sing twinkle twinkle at the top of her lungs.

Emily twirling in her "balrina" dress. I'm going to make her at least one more from this pattern.

snow, eggs, dress

The blue dress is a second run of the pattern I'm testing. It is really a great pattern and Emily loves both dresses so if your ever over you go Dawn you rock! I'm also loving the process of "testing" and have learned some new techniques from reading her pattern. Now if we can just get a few pretty dry days so I can get some better pictures of her in the dresses.

Elijah making his own eggs. I've just excepted that he does not care if his pj's match.

Thankfully Friday morning I went and bought a new sled to replace the one that broke during the last storm. This was more the type of NC snow that I like. Roads were fine, we went out in the morning, it was gone in time to get the kids back to school.

Oh and as a side note Neil realized that he had the resolution of my camera set lower then it needed to be and has fixed that so hopefully tomorrow's picture will be better.

Bits of Sewing

I'm testing a pattern for Dawn at Olabathe (check the side bar) this is the bow on the back of my first attempt. Its really a pretty dress and Emily would not take it off. I've got another version cut out and hope to get it made tomorrow.

Valentines for the kids. Emily always says "I love you too." even if she is not responding to someone. Elijah gets mad at me if I use any cute little names for him and tells me to call him Elijah.

The embelishment I put on a shirt I made to go with some pants from Angela. Funny that I've crossed a lone where when I end up with a pair of pants I like but nothing to go with them I think "I should order some fabric" instead of "I should go buy a shirt."

coffee+wallet

Emily drinking her hot coco from Starbucks. Neil was gone yesterday and I still haven't learned how to use the now coffee maker.

I also finished making myself a new wallet from an online tutorial this morning. It is not perfect but cute and functional so I figure I will use this one for a bit then make another one now that i know how the process works.

A good few days.

Friday Neil and I went to an auction to benefit some of the work our church does in Guatemala. This is Emily checking out my outfit. I really liked the outfit but didn't not get good pictures of me in it.

Saturday we decided to go to the Room Store since our couch is in need of being replaced. The kids had a great time but we were not able to focus enough to think about what we really want in our living room. That has been put on hold till Grandma and Grandpa are here and can keep the buggers.

Today Emily tried on her shirt that I made her yesterday. It is from a Japanese patter book and I really love how simple and sweet it is. She does too she is posing in the picture. The bonus is a picture of some Capri pants I made myself for this spring.

If you don't get this one feel free to email Neil and ask him to tell you all about it.

2 more of Emily

Yesterday we took the kids to IHOP for lunch to help with the cabin fever. This is Emily at the beginning of eating her 1/2 of our blueberry pancakes.

Today is Emily hopping like a frog in the new princess/frog outfit I made her. The princesses even look a lot like her. They are blond with dark eyes plus the fabric is purple which Emily is a big fan of despite all the pink I put her.

I hug it.

She also kissed it but I didn't get a picture of that.

silly girl + a link

Here's silly little Emily from yesterday. She made me dig her little pink car out of the snow so she could ride it down the hill. Didn't want to sled but wanted to do this. Don't worry Angela it still plays music despite having been rained and snowed on.

Now for the link of sorts since I can never get them to work right. Above is the blog of my favorite fabric designer. She has more far far away fabric coming out and I want it all. It isn't out yet but seriously if you want to know what I want for my Birthday I want some of this its pricey but I love it. Wondering what I did with my last ffa well its still a work in progress but hopefully next month after stash game I will slowly and carefully get it finished.
