How much does that machine cost (approximately)? Not sure since it was a gift.
What types of things do you sew (i.e. quilting, clothing, handbags, home dec projects, etc.)? Mostly clothing
How much do you sew? How much wear and tear does the machine get? Almost daily for the past year or so.
Do you like/love/hate your machine? Are you ambivalent? Passionate? Does she have a name? Does Crappy Kenmore count as a name. We have a love hate relationship. Sometimes she drives me crazy but I love that she keeps working for me just the same.
What features does your machine have that work well for you? She's too basic to have any truly great features.
Is there anything that drives you nuts about your machine? I still can't figure out the danged buttonhole foot.
Do you have a great story to share about your machine (i.e., Found it under the Christmas tree? Dropped it on the kitchen floor? Sewed your fingernail to your zipper?, Got it from your Great Grandma?, etc.!)? We want to hear it! My parents got her for me when dh and I bought our first house so I could make curtains.
Would you recommend the machine to others? Why? I would for someone who wanted to try learning to sew without making a huge investment. I think the cost of a high end machine can be pretty scary especially if you don't know if sewing is something you will stick with.
What factors do you think are important to consider when looking for a new machine? Looking forward to finding out.
Do you have a dream machine? I shop at Elegant Stitches a lot and they are a Branina dealership so I ohh and ahh at them a lot but I really don't know yet.

Oh I love Elegant Stitches, we need to meet up there! Get on Craigslist and you can find a Bernina that's budget friendly...that's how I have 2!
We should that would be fun. I look on craigslist from time to time. Think I'm just not mad enough at mine yet to put in the effort.
